The storyline has it all romance, mystery, and suspense. Will Mari and Chris be able to find sanctuary or will they get caught into danger they can’t get out of? They have to lean on one another in order to make it out alive. Mari and Chris feel a strong chemistry between them that they can’t stop. She immediately starts to take care of him.
Mari is lead into the jungle to find this person and she finds a beautiful man hanging from a tree. She is saved by a unknown woman but now she is told she has to save a life as well. Mari Dias is running for her life in the jungle. She exceeded my expectations yet again with this story. I absolutely love suspense in my romance but this talented author continues to blow my mind. It can be read as a stand alone but there are prior characters in this story as well. This is the second book from the Gray Ghost series. I am really loving this series right now and can’t wait to get my hands on ‘Beneath the Surface’ Book #3. Will her secrets be his undoing? What happens when his memories begin to return? What is she hiding?īut, in the jungle- danger is never very far away? Will they survive this ordeal? Or will their story start and end right there in the wilds of Colombia? Mari Dias has grown up in a tough and dangerous environment. I really liked the first book in this series, ‘Broken Circle’, but this book has definitely eclipsed it, in my eyes. There was no where to turn, the story has me firmly in its grip, and I loved it. I was totally immersed, sucked right into the story, becoming involved in all the action, thrills and danger. The story is set against the picturesque, but deadly, backdrop of the Colombian jungle- where danger is lurking and ready to strike. McKinley kept me guessing the whole way through. I was on tenterhook’s, holding my breath, catapulted from one intense moment right into another- all the while trying to figure out what was really going on. McKinley certainly puts them through the wringer. The characters are superb, and oh my goodness Ms. It has drama, violence, special forces, Cartel/Guerrilla’s, intrigue, danger, and lots of gripping situations. It is a fantastic, adrenaline fueled, and action packed romantic suspense. Eye of the Storm is the second book in the Gray Ghosts series by Amy McKinley.
